LLANTRISANT, Wales – August 15, 2025 – Configur, a leading local company, hosted a highly successful charity golf day at the picturesque Llantrisant and Pontyclun Golf Club today, raising an impressive total of over £2,500 for Prostate Cymru. The event brought together 18 enthusiastic teams in a shotgun start format, combining competitive golf with a shared commitment to supporting a vital cause.
The day’s events kicked off with an early morning welcome, as teams prepared to take on the challenging and scenic 18-hole course. The atmosphere was one of friendly rivalry and high spirits, as players from across the community came together for the annual event. The shotgun start ensured that all teams began their round simultaneously, creating a lively and engaging day for every participant.
While every team played with passion, the competition was fierce. The standout performance of the day came from the SR Section Team 1, who clinched a well-deserved victory with a remarkable score of 96 points. Their exceptional teamwork and skill on the course were a highlight of the tournament.
The true winner, however, was Prostate Cymru, the leading Welsh charity dedicated to fighting prostate diseases. The funds raised will directly support their work in raising awareness, providing support to men and their families, and funding research and innovation across Wales.
Marco Oliver, a member of the winning team, shared his thoughts on the event: “The day was absolutely brilliant. The course was in fantastic condition, and the shotgun start was a brilliant format that made the event so much fun for everyone. A special shout-out to the club’s pro, whose guidance and support were incredibly helpful. It was a privilege to play for such a great charity like Prostate Cymru, who do so much for the men of Wales.”
